We invite you to nominate your doctoral students to participate in for the 30th Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) Doctoral Consortium, to be held in person in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 4–5 July 2026, at Artotel Thamrin, Jakarta.
The PACIS Doctoral Consortium is an interactive event in which students have the opportunity to network with and learn from mentors and their peers. Nominees should be PhD candidates in Information Systems who have an established dissertation plan and would benefit from receiving detailed feedback from senior scholars. The Consortium offers doctoral students an opportunity to present their research, refine their ideas, and build relationships with peers and internationally recognized faculty advisors.
Our faculty advisors are leading information-systems researchers from top universities worldwide and hold editorial roles in the discipline’s premier journals. The Consortium promises to be a landmark event for emerging IS scholars across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
The participants of Doctoral Consortium will:
-
- Have opportunities to network with peers and faculty
- Discuss research challenges and opportunities in the age of intelligent technologies
- Strategize about their research, teaching, and career plans
- Help create a positive and inclusive culture in the AIS community

Who may be nominated: PhD candidates in Information Systems whose dissertation work is well underway—with a defined research plan—but who still have at least 6 months of research remaining and can benefit from constructive feedback.
Language requirement: Nominees must have sufficient English proficiency to participate fully; all Consortium activities will be conducted in English.
Regional priority: While preference is given to students from Asia-Pacific institutions (AIS Region 3), outstanding candidates from other AIS regions are welcome and encouraged.

Ranking multiple candidates: Institutions may submit more than one nomination but must rank their nominees. First-ranked nominees will be considered on equal footing with first-ranked (or sole) nominees from other schools. Programs with large cohorts may see multiple students admitted.
Who submits: Nominations must be made by the chair/PhD coordinator/head of the IS unit (or the unit housing the IS program), not by individual faculty members.
What to include:
1.Candidate proposal (including, Research topic and key question(s), Theoretical framework, Proposed methodology, Current stage of the project, Timeline to completion);
2. Nomination letter (from the chair/head certifying that the candidate is the institution’s official nominee and meets the eligibility criteria above.)
Nomination Submission Requirements
Proposal format: A short paper (max 9 pages per PACIS guidelines, not counting the cover or nomination letter) that summarizes the strongest study from your dissertation.
Nomination letter: Must list the candidate’s full name; university, school, or department; complete contact information for both the nominee and the nominating official.
